Michigan State Fair is gone? $ spent elsewhere

Debbie Schlussel says the state of Michigan has zeroed out funds for the Michigan State Fair (it was $360,000 last year) but still spends millions for leftwing arts and for Muslims.

Michigan is one of the failed states in this country and California is following very fast. California already has 2 out of 5 people without jobs. How much longer can this state exist in such a condition?

UT-Brownsville shut down by Mexico gun battle

A border-area battle between Mexican federal police and drug gangs saw bullets hitting buildings on the UT campus that sits atop the US-Mexico border. The campus was evacuated by police for safety reasons.

Renaissance??

If by "renaissance" Mr. Chavez means in the same way that Adolf Hitler and Lenin and Mao were renaissances for humanity. Then he might have a point.

I doubt most people in Venezuela would consider bare shelves, fast increasing food prices, thugs running the street, no free speech, repression of dissent with tear gas, water cannons and beatings to be a "renaissance".

Van Jones resigns, MSM might mention it

The vast majority of the "mainstream media" never even mentioned the controversy surrounding Van Jones, the "Green Jobs Czar". Now that he has resigned they will have to come up with a storyline. If they go for the "Offended Republicans" route it won't be true but they need something I guess.

Imagine that you get your news from the New York Times or from ABC, NBC or CBS. You wouldn't even know there was a controversy. So protective are the MSM of this administration that someone who has been so radical and extreme as Van Jones gets no media scrutiny.

No doubt the MSM will blame his resignation on the "right" and twist the whole thing into something that bears no resemblance to reality. Now that they are forced, by his resignation, to mention the story they will likely make something up.

The man has no business being anywhere near the seat of power.

US seems to ignore Venezuela protests

Massive protests against Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez broke out all around the world today. Many reports are out via Twitter but apparently the US media doesn't consider this a big deal. As a matter of fact references to the marches have been almost non-existent as far as I can tell.

Tomorrow's reporting should tell the tale.

Vancouver Island MRI's to be slashed 20%

In yet another move to save money in the Canadian health system the Vancouver Island Health Authority will cut MRI scans by 20%.

Ain't government medicine grand. First they'll cancel thousands of surgeries which will let them pretend waiting times were cut. How about sending more patients to America for those scans? You know that is going to happen right up until ObamaCare starts cutting back on MRI scans too.
